Ms. Alice Kimm, FAIA, LEED AP B+CAlice Kimm is co-founder of John Friedman Alice Kimm Architects (JFAK).

With the belief that architecture has the power to transform people’s lives, JFAK creates environments and buildings that encourage creative and social interaction, sustain the environment, and catalyze positive change for their users and surrounding communities. The firm’s widely recognized work spans university hubs, commercial ventures, housing, and public spaces. While embracing technology and sustainable principles, each project is approached as an opportunity to enhance the cultural context in which it is located. Recent works include Roberts Pavilion at Claremont McKenna College, La Kretz Innovation Campus in downtown Los Angeles, and Peace Creek Villas in Chengdu, China.

Alice is an Adjunct Professor at USC, where she served as Director of Undergraduate Architecture from 2010 to 2014. She and her partner John Friedman were named Emerging Voices by the Architectural League of NY in 2004, and Alice was elevated to Fellowship of the American Institute of Architects in 2010.

 

Mr. Lorcan O’Herlihy, FAIALorcan O’Herlihy, FAIA, is the founder and principal of Lorcan O’ Herlihy Architects [LOHA]. Since LOHA’s 1994 inception, O’Herlihy has sought opportunities to engage the ever changing complexities of the urban landscape, embracing the role of architecture as a catalyst of change. His social concerns and fascination with the structure of cities has inspired an exploration of the creative interaction between public and private spaces and an emphasis on social and civic connectivity. His firm has established an international reputation for design excellence based on a commitment to research, innovative design and collaboration, and has built over 85 projects on three continents. LOHA has earned over 100 national and international design awards, including the American Institute of Architects| Los Angeles Firm of the Year, as well as nominations for the United States Artists Fellows, and the 2016 Beazley Designs of the Year at the Design Museum in London. The Architectural League of New York selected O’Herlihy as one of the eight “emerging voices” in the United States and he was elevated to the prestigious College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. He received an M.A. in History and Critical Thinking from London’s Architectural Association.

 

Mr. Michele SaeeMichele Saee, founder of the firm Saee Studio, is a practicing architect who believes that architecture is part of everyday life. His recent work includes the Sky exhibition and sales center in Beijing, China (2006); Hermes, The International Cultural Center in Sinalunga, Italy (2006); Linnie House in Venice, Calif. (2005); and The Template House for the first architectural Biennial in Beijing, China (2004).

Saee’s work has also been featured in Architectural Record, Domus International Italy, Progressive Architecture, The Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times, among others. Saee has received numerous prestigious awards and recognitions, including the Young Architects Forum Design Award and an Emerging Voices selection from The Architectural League of New York and an American Institute of Architects Design Award.

Saee’s teaching experience includes appointments at the Otis College of Art and Design and the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc).
