Job Description: Small, client focused, respected firm is currently looking for a skilled architectural drafter with technical proficiency for a full-time position.

We focus on residential projects ranging from remodels to new construction, historic to modern.  An understanding of green design and energy efficient building methods is beneficial.  We strive to create designs that enhance our clients’ lives and foster an ongoing relationship with them.

Our practice is collaborative and design intensive.  The position will involve a variety of tasks, which we are willing to teach, as well as learn methods from you.  We encourage growth and success in the profession.  Therefore, strong professional verbal and written communication skills are necessary to keep our team constructive, effective and supportive.

Jeannette Architects is in Bluff Park, Long Beach. Work hours are Monday through Thursday 8AM to 6PM / closed Fridays.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Preparing Construction Documents including plans, elevations, sections, schedules and details under the supervision of a Project Manager
  • Translating hand drawn sketches to CAD or Revit with ease
  • Submitting drawings for HOA, Coastal Commission, and city/county submittals
  • Collaborating with all co-workers on an assortment of projects
  • Researching building materials, construction techniques and building codes

Job Requirements:

  • 5 year professional degree from an accredited college or 4 year undergraduate degree with 2 year masters degree in Architecture
  • 1-3 years previous architectural office experience
  • AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp proficient
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Excellent communication, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to multi-task and work on various projects at one time
  • Ability to complete tasks on time with accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of construction and building codes
